Nursing Home Beehive 7

Near the time of Rose’s employment departure from the beehive, many others had already left and more were leaving. Merida had given her notice because her husband was being restationed stateside, but across the country and she was going to join him there. The others that had left or were leaving were either getting out of the profession entirely, seeking employment that could be worked from home, etc. With all of the staff turnover, my displeasure with the treatment of Rose, my profound unhappiness with Corporation X and their handling of COVID regulations, I was delighted when I received a phone call asking me to take over the position of Director of Nursing at another nursing home beehive. I quickly accepted the offer to leave the beehive and corporation X. But before, I left, I was told that Rose’s treatment was due to it being obvious that Rose has always had a silver spoon up her butt, and has never known what it is to hurt and struggle.

I took a week off between the move from one beehive to the other beehive. My husband and I decided to go on a road trip to an area that would be secluded and far from others. After we started our trip, it was issued that if a nurse was caught traveling for personal reasons, their license could be referred to the Board of Nursing. I remember thinking, I guess I missed the part about working in healthcare was a jail sentence. We continued on with our trip.
